The United States is home to an estimated 3.5 million Arab Americans.  Representing 22 the community is very diverse.

Key considerations: 

  • The Arab American community IS religiously diverse.  (not all Arabs are Muslim and not all Muslims are Arab).
  • Arab American incomes are higher than the national average.
  • 17% of Arab Americans have a post graduate degree.  (nearly double that of U.S. national average).
  • 90% live in urban areas and 33% live in California, Michigan or New York/New Jersey.

While not officially recognized as a minority group on a federal level, the community is influential in key communities. The cities with the largest Arab American populations include Detroit/Dearborn, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.
